Preliminary Studies and Methodologies Applied for Hydrogen Production Through Possible Wind Farm in Paulino Neves, State of Maranhão, Brazil
The production of green hydrogen, which uses renewable sources for its generation and thus can be generated without the emission of greenhouse gases, represents a fundamental alternative in the energy transition. This approach is crucial in decarbonizing economies, providing a low environmental impact solution. This investigation aims to present and compare two distinct methodologies for the production of green hydrogen from wind energy, both considering the use of the same electrolysis technology, in a specific region of Maranhão (in the Northeast region of Brazil), so as to identify the most feasible one to be adopted. Initially, a brief contextualization of the electrolysis technology is presented, followed by calculations related to wind energy generation, estimated production of green hydrogen for each methodology, and discussion of the results obtained.
