Towards a Platform for Assisted Geocoding and Geoanalysis: the Case of Health Information
Numerous enterprise data concerning individuals can be georeferenced and spatially analyzed. Geocoding, the process of assigning geographical coordinates to address data, is a service offered by several platforms. In addition, conducting geo-analyses can provide a better understanding of data and generate new knowledge to improve business decisions. This is particularly important in the public health domain, where services need to adapt to demographic shifts and territorial factors. However, geocoding and geo-analyses usually require specialized technical skills, which may hinder analysts from executing these tasks. To address this issue, this work proposes a platform that assists analysts in performing geocoding and geo-analyses of enterprise data. The platform was assessed through the development of a prototype and its application in a health domain scenario.
