Techno-Economic Analysis of Single-Circuit Underground Transmission Line Duct Banks
This study investigates the performance and cost-effectiveness of single circuit underground transmission line configurations, explicitly focusing on triangular and flat duct banks. While ampacity is widely acknowledged in the literature, this research emphasizes the significant impact of induced voltages on cable sheaths, a factor often underestimated. Excessive induced voltages can exceed acceptable limits, compromising system integrity and efficiency. The findings suggest that individual analyses favor one configuration over another. Therefore, it is crucial to integrate these considerations comprehensively rather than in isolation to identify more economical solutions.
