Alternatives for High Voltage Testing in Laboratories of Reduced Dimensions
Testing high voltage apparatus requires ample clearances in the laboratory hall. In many cases, high voltage halls built before recent standard requirements may have insufficient dimensions. This paper proposes to analyze, through electric field simulations, the effects of different elements in a laboratory hall on the tests; with the aim of determining whether failure to comply with all clearance requirements would affect the test results. As an example, the testing of voltage detectors is analyzed.
