Electrical grid’s load factor improvement from load modulations and advanced measurement infrastructure
Load factor improvement programs have taken on a key role in recent years due to the growing need for an efficient and sustainable power grid. In order to have this type of network, it is necessary to migrate to a smart grid equipped with sensors, actuators in the field, and bidirectional communication. The objective of this study is to carry out the implementation and evaluation of a direct load control project (load modulation) through the use of smart meters, information management software, energy demand forecasting tools, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and relays, followed by the successful implementation of a remote load modulation program.
