Voltage Assessment in a Distribution Network with Single-Phase Distributed Generation
Photovoltaic (PV) systems are a reality in many countries of the world. However, inserting PV systems into the distribution grid can generate power quality ($\mathrm{P Q}$) disturbances. Therefore, it is necessary to study and investigate the impacts of distributed generation (DG) and identify strategies to mitigate these disturbances. This work studied the voltage assessment in a distribution network with single-phase loads considering the insertion of PV systems. Mitigation strategies based on smart inverters were tested. The paper proposes and evaluates another strategy: changing the phase connection of loads and PV systems. The analyzes were done using the IEEE European Low Voltage Test Feeder with the OpenDSS software. Results showed that the phase change may be an efficient strategy for voltage mitigation.
