A Clinical Case of Application of Dalargin with Carbohydrate Load for Anesthesia in a Patient with Oropharyngeal Cancer

INTRODUCTION: Surgical treatment is an inseparable part of modern medicine and is widely used to treat different diseases. It is of priority in treatment of newly diagnosed malignant neoplasms of the oropharyngeal region. However, surgical interventions in this region are technically sophisticated and are associated with a high frequency of postoperative complications. Certain components of anesthetic support can play a role in reduction of the negative consequences of the treatment. The article presents the results of anesthesia performed according to a developed method in a patient who underwent surgical intervention in the amount of tracheostomy, neck lymphadenectomy, combined resection of oropharynx (with resection of ½ of the tongue with the root and muscles of the floor of the mouth). The anesthetic support conducted by us permitted to perform the surgical intervention with stable vital functions of an organism, without any significant variations of aerobic energy metabolism, and without early and late postoperative complications. CONCLUSION: The effectiveness of the proposed method expands the possibilities of treating patients with malignant neoplasms of the oropharyngeal region and concomitant pathology, providing adequate perioperative organoprotection.
