Formulation and Evaluation of Solid Dispersion of Nepafenc for Ocular Delivery
Improving the bioavailability of medications applied directly to the eye is still a difficulty, while topical administration is a typical way to target therapies to the eye. Various approaches have been investigated to tackle this problem. One of these methods involves making use of aggregates that can be readily produced by cyclodextrin (CD)/drug complexes in water-based solutions. To achieve this goal, we examined the solid dispersion's physicochemical characteristics in relation to CDs. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were utilized to investigate complex formation. According to the results, HPβCD was the most effective at solubilization. An intriguing approach to improving the topical administration of nepafenac could be formulations that comprise drug/CD nanoaggregates.
