Giant Cell Fibroma of the Buccal Mucosa: A Rare Case Report
Abstract Giant cell fibroma (GCF) accounts for 2%–5% of all fibrous proliferations in the oral cavity. Due to its clinical similarity to other lesions, such as fibroma and papilloma, accurate diagnosis can be challenging. It most commonly occurs in the third decade of life, with the gingiva being the most frequent site of occurrence. This article presents a rare case of GCF with an unusual site of occurrence in a 24-year-old male. The definitive diagnosis was confirmed through histopathological examination. The article emphasizes the importance of recognizing atypical presentations of GCF to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate management, with histopathological examination being pivotal for confirmation.
