FEM-Optimized Piezoelectric AlN-based Sensor for Blood Viscosity Monitoring in Polysomnographic Applications
In this work, we present the design, simulation, and validation of a flexible piezoelectric AlN-based sensor for the measurements of fluid viscosity within a vascular prosthesis. In particular, the goal is to derive and monitor the percentage of blood oxygenation from viscosity measurements to monitor this value for polysomnographic applications. The simulations of the optimized design have been performed with COMSOL Multiphysics®, proving the proposed technology is a promising application for wearable blood oxygenation monitoring.
