Structurized Modeling and DBS Control of Grid-Connected DC Microgrid with PV-Hydrogen Source
This paper presents a structured approach on designing the DC Bus Signaling (DBS) control strategy in a DC microgrid, specifically focusing on the dynamic modeling of DC/DC converters, PV production, and hydrogen storage components. Detailed dynamic models of the hydrogen system are developed to capture their operational characteristics and interactions within the DC microgrid. The DBS control strategy utilizes voltage levels on the DC bus as a signaling mechanism to coordinate the operation of both PV resource and the hydrogen storage system, ensuring simple and economical solution for power distribution while preventing voltage instability. Numerical simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the DBS control in maintaining DC bus voltage within desired limits and efficiently managing power distribution between the resources available and load needs.
