Synthesis and optical properties of m-phenyl carbazole derivatives showing aggregation-induced emission and thermally activated delayed fluorescence

Abstract This study reports the synthesis and optical properties of four compounds with m-phenyl carbazole derivatives at their side chains. The devised compounds exhibited both aggregation-induced emission and thermally activated delayed fluorescence. By introducing a carbazole unit at the m-position, we provide a new guideline for molecular design.
