No protective effect of omega‐3s for youths at risk of psychosis

A placebo‐controlled study has found that use of omega‐3 fatty acids had no protective effect on transition to psychosis in high‐risk young people aged 13 to 20. This is the third recent randomized controlled trial (RCT) that has failed to replicate results of a 12‐week trial that found a lower transition rate to psychosis in young people receiving omega‐3s.
