Key words: tourism, pilgrimage, Christianity, Christian country, monastery, church In the work, the methods of analysis, comparison, description, observation, and surveys were used in accordance with the above-mentioned methodology. Summarizing the results of the research, we come to the following conclusions: • Religious tourism is one of the best ways to solve global problems through sustainable development. • It is necessary to take measures to strengthen control, as there are problems in the area of standardization and monitoring. • The Republic of Armenia has managed to preserve its Christian positions, faith, rituals and culture, even being surrounded by Muslim countries for centuries, which is also proof of its prospects. • RA can make religious tourism a priority direction in accordance with sustainable development standards, thanks to which the number of tourists in our country will increase even more. • In order to organize the activities of the "third group" tourists, it is necessary to build ramps, signs for the blind and use other tools to make tourism accessible to this group of people. • RA, being the first country to adopt Christianity as a state religion, has all possible prerequisites for the sustainable development of religious tourist flows in RA.
