ABSURDIST TECHNIQUES OF REPRESENTATION OF THE AUTHOR’S POSITION (N. VERYOVOCHKIN “GOGOL’S SKULL”)
In the present study, in the light of psychological theories, the methods of expressing the writer’sposition and absurdist methods that express it are examined; the notion of the inseparability of the writerfrom the artistic whole is realized. An effort is made to explain these kinds of ways of conveying the writer’sopinion such as the title and inter-textual inclusions from the perspective of Freudian teachings about the twomain energies of man – Eros and Thanatos. The usefulness of the poetics of the absurd as a representation ofthe notion of confusion and absurdity is analyzed, which enables a further examination of the format of thecharacter’s mental condition in the work. Based on the works of Kazakh and foreign literary critics, it is provedthat the expression of the author’s position and the characterization of the character series correlate with themanifestation of the author’s unconscious, psychological trauma and defense mechanisms. A thorough approachconfirmed the theoretical importance of the study to studying the expressions of the author’s viewpoint in thelight of the theories of traditional literary criticism and psychoanalytic approaches. The novelty of the study isdetermined by the fact that for the first time in the story “Gogol’s Skull” by N. Verevochkin, the poetics of theabsurd and the forms of expressing the author’s position in the psychoanalytic aspect were considered.
