Examination of requirements and proposal of specifications for the educational simulator of tower air traffic control at the Faculty of Aeronautics

In the current era of increasing emphasis on safety and efficiency in air traffic, the importance of air traffic control is growing. This article focuses on designing and implementing a tower air traffic control simulator for the needs of the Faculty of Aeronautics at the Technical University of Košice. The work aims to provide students and future air traffic control professionals with practical skills and a deep understanding of flight control processes through a simulated environment that closely mimics real operations. The article analyzes current tower air traffic control simulators, their capabilities, and limitations, and based on the identified needs of faculty, proposes a suitable hardware and software solution for the simulator. This proposal for a simulator has the potential to significantly improve the quality of education and training for future ATC operators, thereby increasing the safety and efficiency of air traffic.
