High Performance 6V and 64.2dB LTPS TFT Operational Amplifier for Integrated Read-Out in Large Area Sensing Arrays

In this work we report the implementation of a compact high performance operational amplifier with low supply voltage, in low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) thin-film technology. We compared the performance of this device against other typical OpAmp topologies such as Miller-OTA and foldedcascode designs. High gain of 64.2 dB at 6 V supply with bandwidth of 300 Hz and gain bandwidth of 400 kHz is achieved. Such OpAmp design is specifically useful to implement analog front ends for scalable sensor array networks. Integration of such sensor arrays enables accurate monitoring of photovoltaic modules and batteries, which in turn plays a key role to improve reliability and safety of these energy devices.
