A 0.04 mm2 22nm CMOS Fully-Integrated Supply-Modulated OOK Transmitter Using Self-Oscillating Voltage Doubler, Charge Pump, and Voltage Detector
This paper describes a small-formfactor, lowpower, low-voltage on-off-keying (OOK) transmitter (TX) with supply modulation. The proposed TX employs of a selfoscillating voltage doubler, a charge pump, and a voltage detector, which reduces area, power, and supply voltage. The proposed architecture has been verified through SPICE simulation. The prototype chip was fabricated in 22 nm CMOS and the required footprint is <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$0.04 ~\text{mm}^{2}$</tex>. Measurement results show successful up-conversion.
