Torque Ripples Reduction of Switched Reluctance Motor Using Direct Torque Control Technique
Many techniques have been reported in literature for torque ripple reduction by modulating the current waveform, which in turn modulate torque profile. In this paper torque ripples reduction is propose by direct modulation of torque profile. The proposed Direct Torque Control scheme offers a robust and efficient method of controlling the torque of a Switched Reluctance Motor. The scheme is effective in reducing torque ripples and positively affects overall motor performance through direct comparisons between reference and measured torque, adjusting the stator current for any deviations referred. The simulation results verify that the proposed DTC method indicate a 30 to 50 % reduction in torque ripples, improve the dynamic response and, in turn, efficiency.
