The Integration of MATLAB/Simulink and Virtuino IoT for an Automated Watering System

Watering is a traditional practice of watering plants. Still, it is ineffective because it leads to an agricultural crop with limited returns due to inappropriate irrigation processes. IoT-based Automation irrigation was used to overcome this problem, improving farm production and rationalising the amount of water. This paper presents an automatic plant watering system using Matlab/Simulink implementation and IoT technologies. The system collects real-time data and regulates irrigation through an on-off control strategy. This system is processed using an embedded card, sensors, and Matlab/Simulink environment. Also, a mobile application is used for monitoring purposes. The system is modelled in Matlab/Simulink using the Matlab function and the map equation to enhance performance. Although this experiment took place during a mildly turbulent winter, the results showed the effectiveness of the project in improving the efficiency of distribution and providing water in an appropriate quantity and time
