Selection of Suitable Magnetic Microwires for Use in RTD Magnetometers Applicable on UAVs
Due to their dimensions, weight, and magnetic properties, magnetic microwires are suitable for use in Residence Time Difference (RTD) magnetometers. The choice of material composition for creating the microwire and the subsequent post-production processes significantly impact the quality of the microwire and, consequently, the quality of the signal obtained from the magnetometer. The aim of this paper is to summarize the results obtained from the experimental measurement of parameters for selected samples of glass-coated amorphous magnetic microwires with varying compositions and post-production processes. The results of the experimental measurements and their evaluation focus on the noise value of the entire measurement chain, the measurable range and the value of the switching field. The results from these experimental measurements will be used to select the most suitable types of magnetic microwires for the development of an RTD magnetometer with a microwire core.
