The Use of UAVs in Assessing Damages to Onshore and Offshore Wind Power Stations
Wind power plants help protect the environment and have an increasing share in the world's energy mix. Recently, these machines have become larger and more powerful, but this constant growth also increases the risk to their surrounding areas in the event of malfunctions. These risks can be mitigated through regular inspections conducted by UAVs. Images captured by UAVs can be transformed into 3D models, which can be effectively used for maintenance purposes. UAV techniques, photogrammetry, and 3D modeling appear to be valuable tools for preventing environmental hazards.
