Techno-Economic Feasibility Analysis of a Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems for an Agri-Food Industrial Facility in Algeria

This study analyzes two renewable hybrid energy systems: a grid-connected PV-wind system and an autonomous PV-wind-battery system using HOMER Pro software for sizing and economic evaluation. The grid-connected system covers 54.4% of demand from PV, 17.3% from wind, and 28.3% from the grid, producing a surplus of 286,434 kWh annually, potentially generating $30,972.82 in revenue and reducing <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{CO}_{2}$</tex> emissions by 423.845 tons. The autonomous system, while 100% renewable, has a higher levelized cost of $0.276/kWh but offers significant environmental benefits and $86,710 in annual revenue from hydrogen sales. Both systems support Algeria's renewable energy goals by reducing fossil fuel dependency and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\text{CO}_{2}$</tex> emissions, making them viable solutions for meeting the small to medium energy needs of industrial facilities.
