Design and Analysis of Domino Logic Schmitt Trigger Circuit for Digital Frequency Meter

This brief analyzes the operation of the optimized non-inverting Schmitt trigger circuit for lower supply voltage embedded with tolerance capabilities against a noisy environment. The proposed IFC-ST circuit possesses improvement in hysteresis behaviour and fast switching capabilities for integration in a digital frequency meter (DFM) system. The circuit exhibits a larger hysteresis width of 0.76× with a cost of lower propagation delay of 3.53×. The circuit has less process variations. It has the improvement of 1.04×, 1.51× and 2.62× in dynamic power, leakage power, and noise margin in comparison to conventional Schmitt trigger circuit at 1V and 25°C. All simulation work has been performed using a 40nm UMC technology node.
