Smart Grid IoT Architecture Design for Academic Environments

IoT networks are gaining popularity nowadays which results in their development and improvement of technologies in this field. A large number of aspects are required to create a functional IoT network. In order to design these networks for the needs of common users, we need to constantly communicate with these people and improve the current solutions. Since we need experts in this field it is necessary to implement IoT networks in the teaching process. The main purpose of this paper is to present the opinion and requirements of the academic community and consequently to create an architectural approach to the design of intelligent network architecture specially adapted in the academic environment in the phase of development and preparation for the needs of the University of Zilina, Faculty of Management and Informatics and the Department of Information Networking.
