Design and Simulation of 72kW Stand-alone PV System for a Gas Charge Station
Solar energy is rapidly becoming a prominent source of energy worldwide. This research presents a detailed plan for a 72 kW standalone photovoltaic (PV) system designed to supply electricity to the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company. Utilizing the roof space of a saw-toothed building and the parking area at the Eni gas station, the design aims to maximize energy production. Extensive calculations for PV panel and inverter sizes are conducted, focusing on minimizing system losses, optimizing performance ratio, and enhancing overall efficiency. Performance ratio analysis and loss evaluation are carried out using PVsyst simulation software. The system's reduced power capacity is attributed to various types of losses. The annual energy demand is carefully assessed in the design of the 72kW standalone PV system. Validation of the design is performed through simulations with PVsyst software to ensure its accuracy and efficiency.
