Research on Trajectory Planning of Denture Milling Machine Tools
In the current era of rapidly advancing global technology, characterized by deep integration and rapid progress in materials science, information technology, and intelligent manufacturing, the international high-end manufacturing sector is undergoing unprecedented transformation and upgrading. The swift development of high-end manufacturing technology and society’s strong pursuit of quality of life have presented new opportunities for the dental prosthetic manufacturing industry. However, traditional dental milling machine technology is no longer able to meet increasingly stringent accuracy requirements and consumes significant energy, thereby limiting the industry’s development. This study involves reconstructing and optimizing STL file topology using both triangular mesh topology algorithms and half-edge topology algorithms. It accurately determines tool positions through curve fitting utilizing the least squares method. Additionally, it employs NURBS algorithms to generate tool paths and designs specific algorithms to reduce path redundancy, thus improving machining efficiency. Simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed trajectory optimization algorithm effectively reduces milling time by 68 seconds and decreases energy consumption by $10 \%$. This research provides theoretical support for innovative development and practical application of dental milling machine technology.
