Overview of Access Control Mechanisms in Cloud Environments
This paper provides an overview of access control mechanisms in cloud environments, in order to optimize the management and categorization of users. The importance of the work lies in addressing the need for security and effective access management within cloud services, where the correct implementation of roles and authorizations plays a key role in data protection and facilitating system management. The paper introduces existing mechanisms for access management such as discretionary access control (DAC), mandatory access control (MAC), and role based access control (RBAC) are examined in detail, with special emphasis on the use of ontology in RBAC for more effective access management.
