Driving Financial Inclusion Through Digital Transformation in Mozambique: The Case For Further Study
“Financial inclusion” is the concept of providing everyone with access to financial services, regardless of their economic status, location, age or gender. Governments and international organisations have highlighted access to financial services as a critical factor in enabling seven of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs). The research aims to analyse the impact of digital transformation regulations on the financial sector in Mozambique, with specific focus on how they can improve access to financial services. The study will thoroughly examine how these regulations promote innovation; increase digital literacy; ensure security and consumer confidence; encourage fair competition among financial institutions; and ultimately enhance financial inclusion. The findings of this research have the potential to significantly influence the regulatory landscape and improve financial services accessibility in Mozambique and the sub-Saharan region, making it a vital and impactful study. This research will also provide an in-depth understanding of how such regulations can be leveraged to develop effective policies and regulations that enable equitable access to financial services for all citizens in Mozambique and sub-Saharan Africa.
