In this interesting case, a pediatric patient presents with chronic constipation and multiple previous hospitalizations due to episodes of intestinal obstruction. In principle, anorectal manometry is used, a non-invasive test to evaluate the function of the internal anal sphincter, which reports the absence of a rectoanal inhibitory reflex (RAIR). X-rays of the abdomen with contrast dye reveal the problem. Key words: Pediatrics chronic constipation bowel obstruction. Anorectal manometry Internal Anal Sphincter Contrast Dye Abdominal X-rays
