Sensorless Position Estimation Method for SRM with Anti-Magnetic Saturation Capability Based on Inductance Vector Online Identification

This paper presents a method for estimating the position of a switched reluctance motor without sensors, utilizing online identification of the inductance vector, where the rotor position estimation error caused by the electromagnetic saturation effect can be eliminated by the developed online inductance identification method. Considering the operating characteristics of the SRM, the three-phase winding will not be saturated at the same time. On this basis, this paper proposes a new position calculation method, which eliminates the influence of the relative position estimation error caused by the saturated inductance. For the SRM in the saturated operating state, the rotor position information can be given more accurately, and an inductance information does not need to be stored offline. The proposed method's effectiveness is validated through simulation, which provides a feasible solution for SRM rotor position information estimation under magnetic saturation.
