A Co-Optimization Method of Coil and Circuit in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation System
This paper proposes a co-optimization method of coil and circuit for enhancing the repetitive discharge performance of transcranial magnetic stimulation systems. Existing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) device optimizations tend to focus solely on coils or circuits performance, neglecting the interaction between them. With the aim of reducing coil heating and improving repetitive discharge performance. This paper establishes a comprehensive computational model considering the coupling relationship between the coil and the circuit. Using a particle swarm optimization algorithm, the coil structure is optimized with the goal of reducing the energy loss per discharge, while satisfying specific coil performance criteria. The results show that, compared to existing coils, the optimized coil achieves a 54.51 % reduction in energy loss per discharge with the same target electromagnetic field intensity and a 25.85% decrease in required capacitor voltage, resulting in a higher repetitive discharge frequency. This method provides a new approach for the design and optimization of TMS systems.
