A Study on the Impact of Microstructures Inside the Human Brain in Understanding the Progression of Alzheimer's Disease
Dementia is emerging as an epidemic to the entire world in near future and India is of no exception. In connection to this, Alzheimer's disease (AD) is regarded as the most common form of dementia which results in severe disturbances in brain functionality. Towards the development of AD from a healthy brain, each of the four lobes of human brain gets affected. This finally causes the patient to loose his/her mobility, speech, cognitive action, judgment and decision making capability. Underneath the development of this extensive malfunction, there lies the roles of several brain structures. In this article, the impact of a number of microstructures inside the human brain has been statistically examined and analyzed. Z-test has been applied to a sizeable number of patient data for identifying those biomarkers which might serve as an important feature to segregate AD, mild cognitive impairment and healthy control from each other.
