Synthesis of Supervisor Design for FMSs Modeled with S4PR Petri Nets by Controllable Transitions

Optimal supervisor designs for flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) modeled with the Petri-Nets (PNs). This paper contributes to controlling FMSs which are required with multiple resource types. This paper implements PNs with the S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">4</inf>PRs: a system of sequential systems with shared resources that have efficiency and significance to describe the interaction processes of FMSs. More importantly, control transitions (CTs) are implemented to quickly and effectively make PNs able to adapt to these automatic changes. The influence of CTs is the capability of PN to make a reachability graph (RG) fully live in terms of generating effective methods for all resources of FMS to be preserved. The target is to preserve all the RG generated by the initialized net. Experimental results show that S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">4</inf>PR designs CTs to describe possible methods to realize maximum permissiveness. Sufficient examples are illustrated to demonstrate that PNs containing modeled FMS need to be simulated, and are much more efficient.
