An Influence of Photonic Crystal Fibres on Bio Medical Applications in the Terahertz Regime Band
This work focusses to find the influence of Photonic Crystal Fibres (PCFs) in bio medical research in the Terahertz (THz) regime band. These PCFs have become very famous in the last few years due to their excellent optical properties. This makes them a very affordable type of fibers. The THz has also become very popular as it guarantees safe communication through the used fibers which is an important aspect in bio medical research. This work explores and dwells into the comparative study of various PCF waveguides, their properties, specialties and application in THz regimes with respect to bio medical applications. This work also reviews various literature where the prime focus is on PCF sensors for detecting biological substances, like brain cells, cancer cells and many more. These PCF models showcase excellent sensitivity, low confinement loses. In this article, we have focussed on PCF in cross domain applications and there is an attempt to find the potential of PCFs in THz applications and extends the knowledge to different domains which will further enhance the research in biomedical research and diagnostics
