Design of Quad-Port Circular-Shaped MIMO Patch Antenna for Triple-Band THz Wireless Communication
A micro-sized quad-port circular-shaped MIMO patch (QCSMP) antenna has been designed for use in Triple-band terahertz (THz) 6G wireless communication applications. The antenna consists of four identical circular-shaped radiating elements placed in a spatial diversity configuration to achieve low mutual coupling and good diversity performance. QCSMP antenna has total dimensions of 400 x 400 x 20 μm3. It offers triple bandwidths of 0.51THz (1.60-2.11THz), 0.65THz (2.70-2.35THz), and 0.66THz (3.81-4.47THz) with gains of 5.43dBi, 6.69dBi, and 8.73dBi at 1.8THz, 2.9THz, and 4.2THz respectively. The diversity performance is also evaluated with an Envelope correlation coefficient <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$< 0.005$</tex> and diversity gain <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$>$</tex> 9.975 within the band.
