Entre aguas y fábricas: transformaciones en el paisaje industrial del río Magdalena

This article explores the transformation of the industrial cultural landscape along the Magdalena River, specifically from Girardot to Honda, with the aim of characterizing this change and highlighting the relationship between the valley, the river, its driving force, and the presence of industrial infrastructures. The interaction between biotic and anthropic factors that have influenced the landscape transformation in various historical stages of industrialization is addressed. Graphical and cartographic analysis is crucial to demonstrate the causal connections between significant events and the current configuration of the industrial cultural landscape. The results identify and categorize industrial remnants that reflect the influence of the Magdalena River on the country's industrial development in the first half of the 20th century, as well as the delimitation of landscape units to understand the interactions between natural and anthropic factors. Este artículo explora la transformación del paisaje cultural industrial a lo largo del Río Magdalena, específicamente entre Girardot y Honda. El objetivo es caracterizar este cambio y destacar la relación entre el valle, el río con su fuerza motriz y el desarrollo de la industrialización, así como de los vestigios industriales como remanentes de su ocaso. Se analiza la interacción entre factores bióticos y antrópicos que han influido en la transformación del paisaje durante diversas etapas históricas de industrialización. El análisis gráfico y cartográfico resulta fundamental para evidenciar las conexiones causales entre eventos históricos significativos y la configuración actual del paisaje cultural industrial. Los resultados identifican y categorizan los vestigios industriales que reflejan la influencia del Río Magdalena en el desarrollo industrial del país en la primera mitad del siglo XX, así como la delimitación de unidades de paisaje para comprender las interacciones entre factores naturales y antrópicos.
