Regeneración urbana del espacio público “calle”: aproximaciones conceptuales bajo el enfoque de la sostenibilidad y del “hacer ciudad”

This paper represents a progress report of the Research Project "URBAN REGENERATION THROUGH PUBLIC OPEN SPACE. Rethinking the street as a key element in city-making" (SECYT-UNC), whose main objective is to provide theoretical and procedural contributions on the valorization of the street as an essential element of urbanity and its significant role in positive urban transformation, through an investigation into various types of streets in the metropolis of Córdoba (Argentina). The report is organized into two stages: on the one hand, the development of a theoretical-conceptual construction of the street from the notion of "city-making" and the paradigm of urban environmental sustainability, and on the other hand the systematization of case studies (existing interventions and non-built projects). The obtained results focus on key aspects for urban regeneration, with the identified attributes serving as foundational inputs for subsequent evaluative and exploratory stages of the Córdoba case studies. Esta ponencia constituye un avance del Proyecto de Investigación “REGENERACIÓN URBANA DESDE EL ESPACIO ABIERTO PÚBLICO. Repensar la calle como elemento clave para ‘hacer ciudad” (SECYT-UNC), cuyo objetivo principal es realizar aportes teórico-procedimentales sobre la valoración de la calle como elemento esencial de urbanidad y su rol significativo para la transformación urbana positiva, mediante la indagación en diversos tipos de calles de la metrópolis Córdoba (Argentina). El presente avance se organiza en dos instancias: el desarrollo de una construcción teórica-conceptual de la calle desde la noción de “hacer ciudad” y del paradigma de sostenibilidad ambiental urbana, y la sistematización de casos de estudio (intervenciones existentes y proyectos). Los resultados obtenidos se centran en aspectos clave para la regeneración urbana, siendo los atributos identificados, insumos de base para posteriores instancias valorativas y exploratorias de la casuística de Córdoba.
