WCN25-1084 INTERNATIONAL RISK-PREDICTION TOOL IN IgAN AND THE PROGNOSTIC IMPLICATIONS OF CRESCENTS
Results:95 diabetic patients were included in our analyses.Median age was 56 years.52% were male.Comorbidities included hypertension in 84%, coronary artery disease in 5.2% , hypothyroidism in 5.2%.46% were on RAS inhibitors and 33.7% were on SGLT2 inhibitors at the time of analysis.Median eGFR was 28 ml/min/1.73m 2by CKD EPI.As per KDIGO CKD stages as per glomerular filtration rate 2.4% 6%,40.9%,26%24% were present in G1,G2, G3, G4 and G5.87.3% patients were found to have albuminuria ( KDIGO A2-18.9%,KDIGO A3-68.4%).The point of care test was found to have a sensitivity of 77%, specificity of 54%, a positive predictive value of 92% and negative predictive value of 24%.The co-relation coefficient between the quantitative UACR values by point of care test and by laboratory method was 0.014.Conclusions: The point of care kidney care test can be used to detect albuminuria in diabetic patients.Considering the high positive predictive value, it may be used to start antiproteinuric therapy (if found to be positive) such as SGLT2i , RASi or mineralocorticoid antagonist in resource constrained settings.A negative test however needs to be confirmed by a laboratory estimation. The quantitative value should be confirmed by a laboratory estimation for titration of dose of medications in patients already on antiproteinuric therapy.I have no potential conflict of interest to disclose.I did not use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process.
