WCN25-4077 EPIDEMIOLOGY OF VASCULAR ACCESS AND ROLE PLAYED BY NEPHROLOGISTS IN NEPAL
The number of patients with End-stage kidney disease (ESKD) has steadily risen in the past decade and so has the number of health institutes offering maintenance hemodialysis services to the patients. Vascular access (VA) is the lifeline of these patients without which the patients cannot receive hemodialysis and is so vulnerable to damage that it is often referred to as the Achilles heel of hemodialysis. So, there is a need for a skilled team of health workforce who have to create vascular access, take good care of vascular access, and tackle problems with vascular access for the longevity of the vascular accesses.
