WCN25-535 Pancake Kidney: A Rare Case of Renal Ectopia
Pancake kidney, also referred to as discoid or fused pelvic kidney, is a sporadic form of renal ectopia where both kidneys are completely fused in the pelvis without an intervening septum. This anomaly was first described by Looney and Dodd and is characterized by its unique anatomical configuration and diverse clinical manifestations. While the typical presentation involves separate pelvicalyceal systems for each renal lobe, variations such as a single megaureter can also occur, as noted in our case.
