Impact of Nutrient Supply Method and Seeding Rate on Late-planted Wheat (Triticum aestivum L) Growth and Yield
This study was conducted during winter (Rabi) season of 2023-24 at Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University research farm of Dehradun, Uttarakhand to evaluate the influence of seed rate and nutrient management on growth and yield of late sown wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Amixture of three seed rates (S1-100 kg/ha, S2-125 kg/ha and S3-150 kg/ha) and a nutrient supply system (F1-50% RDF NPK+50%N through FYM, F2-75% RDF NPK+25%N through FYM, F3-100% RDF NPK, and F4-125% RDF NPK) were used in the factorial randomized block design experiment. This investigation also observed that the application of 125% RDF resulted in significantly taller plants and higher LAI as compared to other nutrient supply system at 60 DAS, during both years. Significantly higher yield attributes viz number of spikes/m², spike length and grains/spike were recorded under 125% RDF treatment which resulted higher grain yield, straw yield, biological yield and harvest index as compared to 75% RDF along with higher 25% N through FYM. .
