Network communication: social interaction as the main function of «games people play»

The network space has its own communication formats. They are set by the digital environment, where the transmission and perception of information is delayed, arriving in a deferred mode, as well as by the written form of message transmission, which slows down communication to the same extent. But the very function of chat communication, despite its translation into a symbolic form, remains the same: this is social communication. The article shows the features of communication on the Internet, examines the main forms of such communication, and reveals its connection with the practices that psychotherapists teach.
