PROFESSIONAL AND NON-PROFESSIONAL REVIEWS OF THE PLAY IN THE MODERN MEDIA SPACE: THE COMPARATIVE ASPECT

Due to the development of information and communication technologies, today any user can become an author of media texts of different genres and different quality, trying himself, including in the field of analytical journalism, theater criticism. The relevance of the study is due to the contradiction between the requirements for a highquality review and the everyday communication practices of users who offer their reviews to the audience on different media platforms. We assumed that each of the review types under consideration, having a set of certain features, fulfills its tasks, and for this purpose we compared them based on the identified relevant criteria. As a result of the comparison, the authors came to the main conclusions: professional review not only corresponds to the generally recognized genre canons ( analyticity, objectivity and impartiality, criticality, evidence, retrospectivity, evaluativeness), but also continues to support institutional (developed by journalism as a special institution) rules and conventions (agreements) in the modern media space; An unprofessional review is mostly based on an emotional and evaluative beginning, representing a simplified, reduced version of the first one, which brings it closer to a review of any object of media discourse.
