La noción darwiniana de medio en la perspectiva de Georges Canguilhem
The statements that Georges Canguilhem made concerning the novelty implied in the Darwinian notion of environment are an example of the heuristic capacity of his way of understanding the history of concepts. In fact, what Canguilhem allows us to see is that the notion of environment im-plied in the theory of natural selection is a foreign and supervening element to the double filiation, physical and anthropogeographical, of the ways of thinking about the milieu that until then guided physiological studies and Nat-ural History itself.
