Trabalho de campo em fitofisionomias florestais e não florestais de Roraima, no âmbito dos projetos PRODES e DETER

This report documents observations and analyses from fieldwork conducted between March 20 and 28, 2023, in the state of Roraima, as a collaboration between the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Agency of Roraima (Embrapa Roraima). The study investigated selected features in both forested and non-forested areas, confirming their anthropization status according to the PRODES and DETER monitoring programs (INPE). Additionally, it aimed to identify land uses and land covers in these areas. The fieldwork covered 2,288 km across eight out of fifteen municipalities in Roraima. Most observations in locations classified as "non-forest" by PRODES were in natural areas, while in forested regions, the majority of points were linked to deforested areas. The results provide valuable insights to enhance Amazon monitoring programs, including interpretation guidelines with feature examples and a detailed document describing the 1,042 visited points.
