Synthesis, Spectroscopic and Biological Investigation of Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Ru(III), Rh(III), Ir(III), Cr(III), Pd(II), Cu(II) and Mn(II) Complexes with Benzilmonoximehydrazide-o-nitrobenzaldehyde
Physicochemical and analytical data have been used to characterize several newly developed complexes of Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Ru(III), Rh(III), Ir(III), Cr(III), Pd(II), Cu(II), and Mn(II) with benzilmonoximehydrazide-o-nitrobenzaldehyde (HBMHoNB) ligand. Studies using magnetic and electronic moment data identify the structures as either 5- or 6-membered coordinated geometry. The crystal structure analysis and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of the HBMHoNB ligand in conjunction with its bivalent and trivalent metal complexes show that the azomethine and oximino groups binding with central bivalent and trivalent metal ions, contributing to the ligand exhibit neutral bidentate (N, N) behavior.
