ON THE SPECIFICITY OF THE INTERACTION OF THEORY AND PRACTICE IN SOVIET DESIGN OF THE 1960S
This report raises the question of the practical implementation of the skills acquired by graduate aesthetic philosophers. Based on the experience of Soviet and world science, the thesis is defended that design and the field of industrial art can become one of the possible areas of implementation of aesthetic competencies. The activity of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Technical Aesthetics is cited as evidence. Theory and practice were fused together in the structure of VNIITE, and its developments were largely ahead of their time. Some problems that were in the focus of the Department of theory of technical aesthetics of VNIITE are considered, and special attention is paid to the scientific work of K.M. Kantor, the first head of the department and one of the pioneers of the theory of domestic design. At the same time, attention is focused on the fact that one of the key goals of his publications was just the organic connection of design theory with philosophical aesthetics, a science that received special development in the USSR of the 1960s.
