THE PHENOMENOLOGY OF ARCHITECTURE AND SPACIAL DESIGN IN ITALY

The phenomenological approach in the architecture and in the organization of the environment characterizes the Italian spatial design for almost entire XX century. Apparently, it remains so important at the beginning of the next century. It is characterized by a deep understanding of the fundamentals of theoretical phenomenology, and the by the ability to implement the ideas of phenomenology in practice. The presentation would show the evolution's development of the so-called “architectural phenomenology” from the first experiments and reflections to actual projects.

Abstract

The phenomenological approach in the architecture and in the organization of the environment characterizes the Italian spatial design for almost entire XX century. Apparently, it remains so important at the beginning of the next century. It is characterized by a deep understanding of the fundamentals of theoretical phenomenology, and the by the ability to implement the ideas of phenomenology in practice. The presentation would show the evolution's development of the so-called “architectural phenomenology” from the first experiments and reflections to actual projects.
