Cardiac Rehabilitation in Patients with Cardiac Implantable Devices: Focused on Heart Failure
Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is essential for improving outcomes in heart failure (HF) patients, particularly those receiving device therapies such as implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD), cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), and left ventricular assist devices (LVAD). While these devices help manage arrhythmias, improve heart function, and enhance survival, CR further boosts exercise capacity and quality of life. This review examines the role of device therapies in HF management and their relationship to CR. It emphasizes the importance of personalized rehabilitation strategies tailored to individual patient needs and the value of collaborative care models in optimizing outcomes. Ultimately, integrating CR into the treatment plan for HF patients with device therapy is crucial for maximizing therapeutic benefits and improving long-term prognosis.
